The McCook County Commission serves as the official County Drainage Board, overseeing drainage activity throughout the unincorporated areas of McCook County.

The McCook County Drainage Department Office, located inside the Courthouse, administers the county’s drainage regulations and supports landowners with drainage‑related needs.

What We Do

• Review and issue drainage permits for tiling and ditching projects

• Approve routine maintenance of existing tiles and ditches

• Investigate drainage complaints and potential ordinance violations

• Provide guidance to landowners on drainage rules, responsibilities, and best practices

The Drainage Department is committed to ensuring that drainage activities are carried out responsibly, fairly, and in accordance with county ordinances.
